Sites Designed For Artists

Putting you and your art on the Internet

Every Artist needs a Gallery

Artists need to have their work seen. Traditionally this has been only been possible through studio visits, exhibitions or an actual gallery. Now it is possible  for you to have a virtual gallery which enables anyone throughout the world to view and possibly buy  your work. A gallery that is open 24 hours a day, all year round!

The features offered by the gallery software incorporated in your Designed For Artists website include:-

  • The site can have an almost unlimited number of 'Galleries'. For example an artist working in different media could have a Watercolour Gallery, an Oils Gallery, an Acrylics Gallery etc. If the site is an Art Society the galleries could belong to different artist members.
  • Each 'Gallery' can have any number of categories. For example the Watercolour Gallery could have sections devoted to Landscapes, Seascapes, Portraits etc.
  • The exhibits in each category can be viewed either indidually or as an automatic slide show.
  • Details of the exhibits; size, medium, price etc can be shown alongside the pictures. It is even possible if you have a PayPal account to include a 'Buy Now' button for easy on-line sales.
  • The Gallery Management system makes uploading of pictures to the gallery extremely easy.

An important aspect of a real life Gallery is its interactive nature. Visitors often have the chance to talk to artists or gallery owners about the works in general or about individual pieces. This concept has been duplicated in the Virtual Gallery by optionally allowing visitors to comment on the exhibits. This gives you valuable feedback and you can then decide whether to display the comments along with the exhibit or not. This facility can be switched on or off on a gallery-wide basis or for individual works.

You can view a sample gallery showing the gallery divided into two different 'collections' (you can have as many as you like) with these split into different categories.

If you would like to see an actual example of the Gallery system as applied to an art society visit the website of the Victory Painting Group or the Dudley Society of Artists and navigate to the Members Gallery.
